Daphne Tong-Pave, Director of Compliance for the Nakupuna Companies
Honolulu, HI – The Nakupuna Companies are excited to announce the addition of Daphne Tong-Pave as their new Director of Compliance. This new role will further strengthen the Nakupuna Companies’ overall compliance program, providing processes and oversight to ensure full compliance with applicable regulations and policies while ensuring new companies within the Nakupuna enterprise can earn 8(a) certification through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as needed.
Although this is a new role for the Nakupuna Companies, Ms. Tong-Pave has been providing compliance guidance and services to Nakupuna since 2014 as an independent consultant. During this period, she helped obtain SBA 8(a) certification for Na Aliʻi, Nakupuna Solutions, and Nakupuna Consulting, and, following certification, ensured they complied with SBA program regulations. Ms. Tong-Pave will continue to provide and apply her invaluable expertise in her new role.

Ms. Tong-Pave brings with her nearly 10 years of experience helping businesses manage the complex world of small business contracting and regulatory compliance. Before working with the Nakupuna Companies, she co-founded Holomua Consulting Group, LLC, and served as Vice President and Senior Consultant. She also spent six years working as an aide to U.S. Senator Daniel K. Akaka and helped manage and develop legislation for a portfolio of various issues, including defense as well as Native Hawaiian, Alaska Native, and Native American concerns. Currently, Ms. Tong-Pave serves on the board of the Hoʻomāhua Foundation, working to establish place-based learning opportunities and foster community engagement, particularly on the Waiʻanae cost of ʻOahu.
