Arlington, VA – The Nakupuna Companies have been recognized as a 2026 Top Workplace by WTOP News, earning the No. 1 ranking in the Largest Employer category. The honor marks Nakupuna’s sixth Washington Area Top Workplaces recognition and its second time receiving the top ranking in the past three years.
The award is based entirely on employee feedback collected through a confidential third-party survey administered by Energage. The survey measures key aspects of workplace culture, including employee engagement, alignment, leadership, and connection to organizational values.
“Being named a Top Workplace is meaningful because it’s a direct result of our employees and the well-connected culture they’ve built,” said Jason Greenawalt, CEO of the Nakupuna Companies. “The strength of our organization has always come from talented people who care deeply about the work they do and the impact it has on our customers and communities. Whether serving clients in the Washington region, Hawaiʻi, or supporting missions at our offices across the country, our teams are united by a shared purpose and a commitment to delivering meaningful outcomes for our customers and communities.”
Nakupuna has operated an office in the Washington region for nearly 15 years, furthering its mission to support the Native Hawaiian community through solving the government’s toughest challenges. Across mission and business operations, information technology, logistics, facilities and infrastructure, and environmental services, Nakupuna has become a well-known and trusted government partner in the region, with its Arlington office serving numerous customer agencies.
As a Native Hawaiian Organization-owned enterprise, Nakupuna’s success also supports broader community impact through its nonprofit owner, the Nakupuna Foundation. Nakupuna’s success in the federal marketplace has led to more than $21 million reinvested through the Foundation into educational, career, cultural, and community initiatives both in Hawaiʻi and across the country.
