Honolulu, HI – The Nakupuna Foundation has released its 2025 Annual Report, highlighting how long-term investments in education, job creation, workforce development, and rural communities are expanding opportunity across Hawaiʻi.
Guided by the theme “He pūko‘a kani ‘āina” — a coral reef that grows into an island — the report reflects how sustained, layered investments help strengthen pathways for Native Hawaiian communities and future generations.
In 2025, the Foundation invested more than $6 million into programs and partnerships supporting STEM education, workforce development, cybersecurity career pathways, and community-based initiatives across the state. Since 2015, the Nakupuna Foundation has contributed more than $21.2 million in giving throughout Hawai‘i.
“Every investment we make is rooted in the belief that opportunity should be accessible, sustainable, and connected to communities we serve,” said Lindsay Ah Loo, Executive Director of the Nakupuna Foundation. “This report reflects the collective work of our partners, employees, and community leaders across Hawai‘i who are helping build stronger foundations for future generations, layer by layer.”
The report’s key highlights include the Foundation’s continued investment in rural communities through long-term partnerships, its growing focus on cybersecurity workforce development, and job creation initiatives designed to connect Hawai‘i residents to emerging, high-demand career fields.
In 2025 alone, the Foundation invested more than $2.35 million in education programs, $1.07 million in job creation and workforce development initiatives, and $220,000 to support Hawai‘i’s growing cybersecurity workforce pipeline.
