Steven Wright
Steven Wright is the Chief Financial Officer and has been with the Nakupuna Companies since 2018, previously serving as Controller from 2018 until 2022.
Steven is responsible for the financial and accounting functions of the Nakupuna Companies, managing revenue and cash flow while providing strategic direction as our enterprise continues to grow. As Controller, Steven helped lead the implementation of the Nakupuna Companies Shared Services model to more accurately allocate costs across the companies, and provided management and oversight of our globally dispersed Finance & Accounting team. He also led the effort to ensure that the Nakupuna Companies’ financial and accounting systems were compliant with the Defense Federal Acquisitions Regulations Supplement (DFARS). As both Controller and now Chief Financial Officer, Steven is the Nakupuna Companies’ liaison to the Defense Contract Audit Agency.
Prior to joining the Nakupuna Companies, Steven provided audit and assurance services for public accounting firms, and he previously served as Assistant Controller and Compliance manager for an information technology services firm. While his experience has primarily been with government consulting, Steven has also worked with the hospitality and technology industries, as well as with employee benefit plan administration.
Steven earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Information Systems from Virginia Tech, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
