HONOLULU, HI – The Nakupuna Companies have again been honored as one of Hawaiʻi’s Most Charitable Companies by Hawaii Business Magazine. Ranking 7th in the for-profit company category for 2025, this is Nakupuna’s third recognition in a row and its fourth overall.
Hawaii Business Magazine publishes the annual list to recognize the generosity of companies and nonprofits operating in Hawaiʻi. Over 100 organizations were recognized for donating over $349 million to charities last year, signifying an increase of nearly $50 million in funding for community outreach throughout Hawaiʻi.
“It’s humbling to be named among organizations that invest and care deeply for our communities,” said Nakupuna Executive Cariann Ah Loo. “Service is a core part of who we are, and our employees embody that value in every project. Their dedication is what allows us to meaningfully give back.”
The Nakupuna Companies delivered over $4 million in community investments in 2024 through their nonprofit owner, the Nakupuna Foundation. As a federally recognized Native Hawaiian Organization (NHO), the Nakupuna Foundation uses profits earned by the Nakupuna Companies to fund initiatives through community organizations such as the University of Hawaiʻi Foundation, the Polynesian Voyaging Society, and the Pauahi Foundation. Since their formation, the Nakupuna Companies have reinvested more than $15 million into scholarships, career advancement, and educational programs benefitting Hawaiʻi and other communities where their employees live and work.
