Honolulu, HI – Nakupuna announced that it has successfully earned the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 designation, placing the organization among the first 500 companies nationwide to meet the Department of Defense’s enhanced cybersecurity requirements. This milestone reflects more than six years of investment and collaboration to safeguard the sensitive information entrusted to Nakupuna by its government customers.

The certification affirms that Nakupuna meets the rigorous NIST SP 800-171 Revision 2 security standards for protecting Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and Federal Contract Information (FCI). With this designation, the company is fully prepared to support evolving federal missions with a reliable, compliant cybersecurity posture.

For government customers, this accomplishment delivers measurable value. By implementing advanced security controls and embedding vigilance into daily operations, Nakupuna strengthens protection against breaches and operational disruptions, enabling agencies to move forward with confidence as cybersecurity expectations continue to evolve across the federal acquisition landscape.

The certification also underscores Nakupuna’s capabilities as a trusted partner for prime contractors and teaming organizations. Its disciplined processes and organization-wide accountability help minimize supply chain vulnerabilities and support the development of competitive, compliant proposals. The company’s mature cybersecurity framework offers long-term assurance to partners and customers who depend on stable, secure performance throughout the life of their programs.

This achievement reflects the collective effort of Nakupuna’s information security, IT, and shared services teams, supported by leadership and embraced across the enterprise. Together, they established the policies, processes, and culture that make cybersecurity a sustained, intentional practice across the organization.

For Nakupuna, earning CMMC Level 2 reinforces its responsibility to government clients and further strengthens the foundation for delivering secure, innovative, and reliable solutions.

“This accomplishment represents years of thoughtful planning and disciplined execution,” said Chris Grocki, Chief Administrative Officer. “Our teams worked tirelessly to elevate our systems, people, and processes to the highest standards of protection. This certification is not only a testament to their dedication but also a commitment to our customers that their information is safe with us as we support their critical missions.”
