Nakupuna reps: Jeannin Jeremiah and Cariann Ah Loo
HONOLULU, HI – The Nakupuna Companies were recognized as one of the inaugural honorees of Pacific Business News’s Kōkua Kahiau Awards, which celebrate Hawaiʻi-based organizations making meaningful contributions through philanthropy, volunteerism, and nonprofit partnerships.
The Kōkua Kahiau Awards highlight local businesses that give generously of their time, resources, and relationships to strengthen Hawaiʻi’s future.
“This recognition belongs to our people and partners,” said Lindsay Ah Loo, Executive Director of the Nakupuna Foundation. “It reflects the values that guide our work and the shared commitment to serve communities with purpose.”
As a Native Hawaiian Organization, the Nakupuna Foundation reinvests earnings from the Nakupuna Companies to support the economic advancement of Native Hawaiians by investing in culturally centered STEM education, career pathways, and services that prepare individuals to succeed in a global talent pool.
Since 2017, Nakupuna has concentrated on growing its network of partnerships and supported programs, expanding from the award of a single scholarship to a portfolio that now includes eight annual scholarships, financial aid for teachers, summer internships, and more than 20 programs reaching students across the state. Looking ahead, Nakupuna remains committed to serving with intention, investing in the partnerships and people who are shaping a thriving future for Hawaiʻi and beyond.
