Tom Bishop
Chief Investment & Financial Planning Officer
Tom Bishop is the Chief Investment & Financial Planning Officer and has been with the Nakupuna Companies since 2017. He is also the Chief Investment Officer of Nakupuna Capital, an investment company under the Nakupuna Foundation.
Tom brings more than 30 years of experience in corporate finance, strategic planning, investment analysis, and data-driven decision-making for complex organizations. He oversees Nakupuna’s Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) department and leads strategic investments that support long-term growth. Tom and his team develop budgets, forecasts, and corporate valuations, translating detailed financial information into clear, actionable insights that help Nakupuna’s leaders make informed decisions. His work also supports financial planning, regulatory compliance, and Nakupuna's ability to remain competitive in the federal marketplace. Known for his collaborative leadership and analytical rigor, Tom combines financial discipline with a strategic perspective to support sustainable growth for the Nakupuna Companies and continued investment in the Nakupuna Foundation.
Before joining Nakupuna, Tom spent 17 years in corporate finance with federal contractors, often serving as a program manager supporting defense agencies. Earlier in his career, he worked as an equity analyst in Thailand, supporting large banking institutions during the Asian financial crisis of the late 1990s.
Tom holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from California State University, Fullerton. He has also completed extensive accounting coursework at George Mason University and the Advanced Finance Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Tom enjoys restoring old cars and woodworking (much of the furniture in his house he built himself!).
