Shannon Edie is General Counsel and joined the Nakupuna Companies in 2024.

As General Counsel, Shannon oversees legal matters for Nakupuna and acts as the Companies’ primary legal representative. Shannon works closely with our other Shared Services operations and Senior Management to identify, mitigate, and address legal risks. This includes providing strategic legal advice on business transactions, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, managing litigation, overseeing negotiation of agreements, and keeping leadership updated on emerging legal issues that may impact our business. Shannon believes that a collaborative approach ensures that legal considerations are seamlessly integrated into the companies’ overall business strategy.

Prior to joining the Nakupuna Companies, Shannon co-founded Holomua Consulting Group, LLC, a woman-owned small business. As President and Senior Consultant, Shannon was responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the firm and advising clients on issues related to federal contracting, small business contracting programs, and legal and compliance matters. She also served as Executive Director for the Native Hawaiian Organizations Association (NHOA), where she helped advocate for the NHO 8(a) program, worked to grow the membership base, and coordinated the largest annual conference in Hawaiʻi focused solely on federal contracting. Shannon began her legal career as a litigator in San Francisco before moving back to Hawaiʻi in 2008 to join the labor and employment group of one of Hawaii’s largest law firms.

Shannon is proud of her Native Hawaiian heritage and is passionate about helping create economic opportunities for Native Hawaiians. Shannon served as the President of the Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce from 2020-2022 and is a current member of the Center for Indian Country Development’s Leadership Council.

Shannon holds a bachelor’s degree in business and public administration from the University of Puget Sound and a Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University. She is licensed to practice law in California and Hawaiʻi.
