Kirk Montgomery
Kirk Montgomery is a Senior Manager and has been with Nakupuna Companies since 2018.
Kirk is the Program Manager for Nakupuna’s Army Military Payroll (AMP) effort, where he oversees operations in pursuit of delivering a total force payroll solution that provides accurate and timely pay while improving the quality of life for over 1.1 million soldiers and their families. Kirk also provides expertise in uniformed service personnel payroll operations, DoD systems engineering, and Agile software development practices to other company programs and business development opportunities. Prior to assuming his role on the AMP program, Kirk managed the program ramp-up of the Navy Personnel & Pay (NP2) Support contract and has acted as Deputy Program Manager, Deployment Manager, and Integrations Product Manager for NP2.
Prior to joining Nakupuna, Kirk was formerly the CSRA Project Manager for Defense Retired & Annuitant Pay System 2 (DRAS2) for the Defense Logistics Agency. He also served as Deputy Project Manager for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Direct Access Tech Refresh Program, and served as Project Manager on the Public Health Service (PHS) Retired Payroll Integration into USCG Global Payroll.
Kirk holds a master’s degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations (HRIR) from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, and earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Kirk is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), certified in Leading SAFe, and holds a ITIL Foundation certification.

While in Bemidji, Minnesota, Kirk once experienced record cold weather where you could see your breath turn into ice crystals and fall to the ground.
