Washington, D.C. – The Nakupuna Companies have earned a Top 5 spot on The Washington Post’s 2025 Top Workplaces list, ranking 4th among large employers in the D.C. region. This is the second consecutive year Nakupuna has placed in the Top 5, and the fifth time the company has been honored by The Washington Post for its outstanding workplace culture.
This is Nakupuna’s eighth Top Workplaces award overall, including recent honors from The Denver Post, and a #1 ranking in 2024 in their category from both the Washington Post and Top Workplaces Hawaii.
“This honor reflects our employees’ dedication to bringing purpose, care, and excellence to everything we do for one another, for our clients, and for the communities we serve,” said Jason Greenawalt, CEO. “What makes Nakupuna special isn’t just the great work we do, it’s the way we do it, together.”
Nakupuna has operated an office in Arlington, Va., for more than ten years, and recently expanded to nearby Patuxent River, Md., broadening operations across the region. Nakupuna’s D.C. area presence now numbers more than 800 employees working to solve some of the toughest challenges in government for a growing portfolio of customers across the Department of Defense and other federal agencies.
“For 12 years, The Washington Post’s Top Workplaces list has served as an essential resource for D.C.-area professionals, equipping them with unparalleled insight into the best local companies to work for, as heard directly from their employees,” said Bronwen Latimer, the editor for Special Initiatives at the Washington Post. “This year we have highlighted 250 companies who are making a difference in business and in our communities.”
Selection for Top Workplaces is based solely on employee feedback gathered through an anonymous third-party survey distributed through technology partner Energage. The survey measured employees’ perceptions of Nakupuna’s culture, including alignment, execution, and connection to its purpose and values. Results were benchmarked against hundreds of companies across various industries and grouped by organization size within the region.
