Arlington, VA – On July 6, 2021, the Nakupuna Companies hosted Representative Kai Kahele (D) from Hawai‘i’s 2nd Congressional District at our Arlington, VA offices. Rep. Kahele’s visit was part of a series of annual updates during which information about the Nakupuna Foundation’s community impact and business operations, as well as common challenges faced by Native Hawaiian Organizations (NHO), are discussed with the members and staff of the Hawai‘i congressional delegation.

“We were thrilled to welcome Rep. Kahele to our offices and share the mo‘olelo (story) of the Nakupuna Companies and Foundation,” said Cariann Ah Loo, Chair of the Nakupuna Foundation Board and President of Na Ali‘i, the first 8(a)-certified business under the Nakupuna Companies. “We look forward to working with all of Hawai‘i’s elected representatives during this legislative term to strengthen the entity-owned 8(a) program, so that NHOs can continue to thrive and to drive economic opportunities for Native Hawaiians.”
